So much has been going on since my last post. Interweave Knits did a really nice review of my products (1/2 page!) in their summer issue. This review in combination with my Knitty Gritty episode has kept me busy filling orders.

On the design side I've been working on a jacket for Stitch Diva. I expected the whole process would take about four weeks, but it turned into seven. Everything seemed to be working against me on this one. The software program I usually use for creating the basis for my patterns would no longer run on my computer since I upgraded to Vista. Then I set aside one day to totally focus on writing the pattern. The next day I opened up Word and the file was completely gone, gone, gone. Aaaah! Despite all this, the jacket is amazing. When I think about all the garments I've designed, it's my favorite. I love the construction (top down), design and the challenge it gave me (aside from computer problems). Of course, I'll let you know when it's available.

Since completing the jacket I started working on a pair of socks. I've made I think 3 socks in my knitting career. Socks have never really interested me, but I needed a yellow sock on-the-needles for yesterday's photo shoot. I cast on Cookie's Hedera. I am completely enjoying working on this sock. I don't know if it's that I'm not having to calculate the numbers like when I design, but it has been utterly relaxing. I anticipate more socks in the future. Maybe every time I finish designing a pattern I should knit a sock to soothe myself.

Did you catch that earlier, "yesterday's photo shoot"? Yes, somethin's in the works. Details soon. As I've said before, I love photo shoot days. Standing behind the photographer, looking at the new product I have immense satisfaction. After months of sketches, fabric swatches, lab dips and prototypes it's great to see it all come together. It's a big sigh of relief. The next sigh will come when I hear your reaction. I hope you'll adore it as much as I do!

Your socks look great and I definitely think you ought to keep making socks. :-)
