I want, no need, to get a blocking board. I hate blocking and blocking on towels frustrates me even more. I know I could make my own, but I have no desire to do so. I want it to have the grid on it, be big and movable. I've come across three possibilities so far, but not being able to see these in a shop makes it difficult. Even after a bit a research, I'm not really sure of what features to look for. Here's what I've found so far:

I haven't had the opportunity to purchase or use either one, but from reading what each has to offer, I would suggest either the Space Board or the Halcyon Blocking Board. Both are extremely large enough to handle any project. The Sew E-Z seems a bit small.
I don't have a blocking board either, I intend to get one in the future, as I'm also getting tired of using towels and the kitchen table. The Space Board looks good, and doesn't seem to take up as much space as the Halcyon Blocking Board, but if I'd have a choice I'd go for either the Space Board or the Halcyon. By the way thank you for giving info on the Knit Pro. I have been looking for grid software for a while now.
Did you decide yet? I think it would come down to the Spaceboard or the Halcyon one. The Halcyon's bigger (you could almost put a shawl on it!), but then the Spaceboard has the grid. I think I really want the grid, just to make straight lines easier...I hate having to measure both sides of a project to see whether they're the same.

I have the Space Board, which, if I'm not mistaken is the same as the large E-Z board (at least, the measurements are the same). I really like it. Most projects fit on it just fine, and I like that it has a grid marked on it with inches. (Centimeters are marked along the sides, but the grid itself is inches.) When I make something very large (a shawl, a long scarf) I have had to resort to supplementary towels and such, but I have been very pleased with mine. I think it has really made a difference in my blocking.
