Sherry made me realize that I never posted again about the marathon. It was exhausting. First, it gave me so much respect for the runners. The runners started before the walkers, so they ended up passing us. We were about a mile or so in when the first runners came by. They had already ran 16 miles at this point. It was great to be able to cheer them on.
The walk didn't get my heart-rate up, as we kept to a nice pace, but, it was definitely hard on the leg muscles. The entire course has several hills and the very last one just killed my legs. The scenery was spectacular and being an unusually non-foggy day made it even better (sorry, we forgot the camera).
I have no desire to ever do it again and will certainly never run a full marathon. You could probably force out of me that I'm glad I did it...just this once.

Good for you!! I will think of you whenever I use my bag that I want to get for mother's day(hint hint to my hubby, but he never takes the hint) Got to do a distance walk, just once. No a marathon is NOT for anyone, but gosh, it is such a wonderful thing to have people that appreciate what a runner/walker goes thru. There are people twice as old as me, that pass me.
Anyway, thanks for the update!!!
