Back from Stitches West!
It was a great show this year. It was actually the best show I've ever done both in sales and the overall experience. The prep for the show was much easier for me as it was the third Stitches West I've exhibited at. So, the display and getting everything ready just fell together without a problem.
I always love meeting up with past acquaintances and customers, and meeting many wonderful people. I especially enjoy the feedback I get on the bags. It's such a delight to watch knitters ooh and ahh over the designs I spend so much time developing.
Unfortunately, (well not too unfortunate) I was too busy at the booth to shop the market so I don't have much to report. I did stop briefly at Blue Moon Fiber Arts. They had some beautiful shiny, rayon viscose, yarn. The colorways were great and I hadn't seen yarn like it before. I don't like buying yarn without a pattern, so I didn't buy any yet. They said they would have it up on their website soon.
Here are a couple pics of the booth. That's Lucy the mannequin on the left.

That's Elizabeth the sister on the right. She helped me on Sunday and my mom helped me in my booth on Friday. Sorry, no mom and daughter pics. We didn't have the camera that day.

I haven't decided if I'm happy or sad to say The Knitter's Purse has been discontinued. It was a tough decision. There are brief moments that I worry I made the wrong choice. The Knitter's Purse was the product that launched my company. I'll always love the design. But, I've been selling it for almost three years now and I decided it was time for new products.
If you've been holding out purchasing a purse, now would be the time to buy one. I don't have any left in stock, but some retailers do. I can help you locate a shop near you that has them in stock so you don't have to go through the whole list on your own.

Jordana - I saw the write-up in Carmel Magazine and realized that it was you! It's me, Diane from Heavy Duty! I was the office manager! How are you? Last time I saw you was at Elizabeth Ashley, I think? Your products look wonderful! Congratulations on such a successful business!
I am still deciding if I want to get the satchel or tweed messenger bag! I know I should just get both, but I need to ease my husband into it!
Well, I wanted to say hi and wish you much luck in your future endeavors!
I look forward to trying your bags and seeing what you come up with in the future! (since I'm a mom now, a diaper/knitting bag would be awesome!)
Best regards,
Diane
Jordana, I wrote you a long time ago when I asked for and received the Knitter's Purse. I love it. It's a great bag. But your newest designs have made me go GA-GA, which for me tells me that you're stuff is getting even better. It has a "wow" factor. That blue bag you just put out is making me drool. I can only imagine that you're hung up on having to let it go. But just know that what you have "in store" is INCREDIBLE.
Great show display by the way!
Hi Diane,
Congratulations! It's great to hear you and your new family are doing so well.
I recommend the messenger...it definitely has room for both your knitting (when you get time to do that) and baby items.
Sincerely,
Jordana
My husband bought me your Knitter's Purse two Christmases ago--it still looks great, I love it. Congratulations, Jordana--your new products look wonderful--but I'll have to stand up and salute your Knitter's Purse--it made my knitting passion chic and helped integrate my crazy yarn insanity into my button-down Washington DC lifestyle.
WOW!!! I'm sad to hear that the purse is discontinued.I have been holding out to buy one but then you came out with the satchel...grrr...too hard to decide. I don't know what to do...I'm in turmoil. No, not really, I'm just going to have to pile all my kids in the car and go down to one of my LYS and go get me one tomorrow...I'll go ahead and NOT tell the hubby. ***evil grin***
I look forward to seeing what else you come out with. I am a big fan.
