As you probably know, Saturday was Worldwide Knit in Public Day. Saturday was also my brother-in-law's graduation from UCSB, which meant I wasn't able to attend a local KIP event. But, that certainly doesn't stop me and the family. We pulled out our needles and enjoyed a warm Santa Barbara day knitting in the sun as we waited for Tyler to walk across the stage. It was really quite brilliant because that's a lot of names to listen to.

Last week I received my first pattern design back from my test knitter. The pattern has been passed on to the tech editor. Meanwhile I'm working on photography of the garment. I use Fiona, my Dritz dress form when I'm designing. It's great because I can adjust the size, but I don't want to use her for photography because she's purple. Today I shopped for a dress form for photography and found this pretty gal on eBay:

I've always wanted a professional dressmakers form. She'll be here next week. I need to come up with a name for her. Any suggestions? It will be really nice to have two dress forms. I can bring Fiona to my home where I knit and the new gal will stay at my office where I design.

    How about Bella? Or Phoebe?

I think you should name her Hazel. That's the name of a gal who works hard - and it must be hard work to stand there and look pretty all of the time!

the "technical" nickname for those types of dressforms is "Judy". I kinda like Lucy, as well.

Hi Jordana - skipped over here to your blog from Ravelry!

After a quick Google search it looks like Fiona means "white or fair" which is funny because she is purple. To match the oppositely occurring color you could name your lovely new model Violet. :)
